Like to root for an underdog? Thanks for rooting for Birch Equipment, celebrating our best place to work rankings three times in the last 12 months. It’s a huge honor with our industry largely un-represented. Most participating businesses come from companies in banking, high tech, staffing and consulting firms.
“Here at Birch we strive to be the best in everything we do. We have a saying, ‘How we do anything is how we do everything.’ It puts equal importance on all parts of our business and each individual’s contributions to making every day a success”. – Birch Employee Survey Answer
Birch did what is does best – showing up in unexpected places with strong employee participation and excellent results – a testament to a strong company culture.
Birch astounded pollsters locally when it earned the highest rankings – 9.705 out of 10 — of all Whatcom County Business in a Bellingham Business Pulse survey.
Birch placed an impressive 5th companies in the Seattle Business Magazine ‘Washington’s 100 Best Companies to Work for 2019’, outpacing other mid-sized companies in Training & Education, Responsibility & Decision Making, Performance Standards and Work Environment & Culture. Only 8 of the top 100 companies work in construction. Birch joined over 1,000 people at the Washington State convention Center to celebrate.
And out of thousands of participants, Birch came in 3rd in the medium size category for Puget Sound Business Journal’s ‘Washington’s Best Workplaces’, just .22 points away from taking 2nd place. Birch crew joined other winners at T-Mobile Park for a stadium-style buffet, victory laps around the bases at T-Mobile Park and plenty of Birch shenanigans adding to the fun.
Last and certainly not least, Birch celebrated with employees and their families at a special event this month at Boundary Bay Brewery. The party gave us the chance to celebrate Bruce Miner, the latest to mark his 20-Year Anniversary with the company. True to form, Bruce got to pick his party and Rolex watch to mark the occasion. There might have been some roasting — and definitely a lot of toasting — involved.
